The Valley of Butterflies (Petaloudes)

One of the most famous sights of Rhodes is the Valley of the Butterflies. 

It is located in the northwestern part of Rhodes, next to the village of Theologos. This is the valley of the butterflies that enchants the visitors with the ponds, the cobbled paths and the bridges, the small endless waterfalls but also the dense vegetation.

Butterfly Valley is a natural park 23 km from the city of Rhodes, belongs to the Natura 2000 protected zone and is a rare habitat that hosts the butterfly Panaxia Quadripunctaria that makes its appearance in this unique natural park in space. from mid-June to late September. Some of the species that are hosted in the park are very rare and are found in very few places around the world.

In the valley you will also find one of the most beautiful Natural History Museums. Admire the hatchery-exhibit of butterflies and see samples of the flora and fauna of one of the most unique habitats in the country.
